They chose to come to Ukraine by violating the state border

The Border Police officers detained two Moldovan citizens trying to cross "invisibly" the border with the intention of reaching illegally Ukraine.

In the first case, on February 24, following information received from the local population, within the responsibility area of Border Police Sector Valea Perjei there were intensified the state border surveillance methods, the result being a person revealed, who intended to approach the border line with Ukraine. The Border Police officers acted expeditiously managing the person’s retention at the exit of Perjei Valley village.

From preliminary investigations, it was found out that the 23 -year-old young man, without possessing traveling documents tried to reach the neighboring country illegally. Similarly, within the additional investigations, the border inspectors revealed that he had a criminal record for fraud.

The second Moldovan was detained following a joint action with Ukrainian colleagues. Yesterday, at around 22.40, maintenance regime patrol from the BCP Vulcăneşti noticed a man about 20 meters after the exit barrier, at the moment of getting into the car that passed legally the state border of the Republic of Moldova in Ukraine. In this respect, there were immediately notified Ukrainian border guards that managed to detain the man.

Being questioned by Border Police officers, the Moldavian admitted illegal border crossing, bypassing the BCP because he was forbidden to leave the country for an offense committed in the past.

In both cases, persons were detained and investigations are continuing to establish their guilt and attract under liability under the national law.
