Moldovan-Romanian border assaulted by cigarette smugglers
Five persons and 6,400 packs of cigarettes were detained in two cases of illegal transportation across the state border of tobacco products in the last 12 hours.
On June 30, based on intelligence information, at the level of the Border Police Sector Ungheni was initiated an action on countering cigarette smuggling in collaboration with the officers of the special investigation of the Western Regional Directorate of the Border Police.
Several persons who wanted to cross the border illegally, using forged passports were discovered last week at the BCPs. Among those documented are individuals who were on wanted list for crime committing and persons with false identity.
