Fishing during prohibition period
Considering the fishing prohibition established this year from April 1, were enhanced the patrol activities on the river Prut. In this respect, thanks to actions in preventing and combating attempts to breach the border regime in order to detect the persons who do not comply with legislation, the Border Policemen counteracted several cases of illegal fishing.
On May 25 was celebrated the European Border Policeman. On this occasion, at the initiative of the Border Police was organized a softball tournament within which participated the teams of the Department of Border Police, the National Olympic and Sports Committee, the Moldovan Football Federation and the Sports Press Association of Moldova.
During the summer time, the number of Moldovan citizens who prefer to spend their holidays abroad increases considerably in this respect, the Border Police comes with some recommendations to avoid awkward situations while crossing the state border, because of the lack of rules knowledge regarding the crossing of the border and the necessity of holding the necessary documents.
This morning, the Border Police officers in common with Customs officers arrested in the vicinity of the Moldovan-Ukrainian border, a Moldovan, who was carrying 1.500 ducklings, illegally introduced in the country.
The employees of the Border Police detected a Moldovan who was carrying on a regular basis via the route bus not only passengers but also 450 liters of alcohol without documents of origin. The detention took place on the basis of intelligence information, received from the special investigation officers from the Northern Regional Directorate.
