Secretariat (as Directorate) provides organizational, documentary, judicial, information and technical support in the view of exercising the prerogatives established by law.

Economy and Finance Directorate ensures efficient management of financial means approved for Border Police maintenance. It participates in developing the medium-term budgetary framework and the draft annual state budget; prepares financing plans with estimates of expenditure; ensures performance of clearings with debtors and creditors; performs accounting and provides financial statements in accordance with the legislation.

Logistics Management and Procurement Directorate is responsible for ensuring, organizing and carrying out control over technical-material supply of the Border Police.

International Cooperation Directorate carries out its activity in the field of European integration and international relations. It is responsible for promoting and coordinating cooperation of the Border Police Department with border agencies of other countries, and governmental and non-governmental international organizations. It also contributes to developing relevant draft international treaties.

Policy and Assistance Projects Directorate is responsible for capacity building in terms of strategic planning, analysis, monitoring, assessment and reporting on implementing national and sectorial public policies; improving the quality of the decision-making process; ensuring the process of programming, implementation and monitoring of external assistance projects and programs.

Personnel Inspection Directorate is assigned with competences related to maintenance of discipline, prevention and control of corruption among employees, and ensuring institution’s internal security. The Directorate aims to achieve a high level of integrity of each employee to ensure institution’s well-functioning. It examines cases related to misbehaviour, carries out investigation and may come up with proposals on settlement or sanctioning of undisciplined employees.

Documents’ Expertise Directorate is a criminalistics’ subdivision specialized in forensic expertise of travel documents. It has the mission to ensure technical examination of travel documents and management of records in order to counteract attempts to cross the border with false documents.
