A car crammed with 75,000 smuggled cigarettes, found at border

t1Yesterday, September 23, the team of the Border Police being on patrol in the area of responsibility of the District Ungheni detained 10 meters from the river Prut a transport means. The man, who was driving the transport unit could not justify his presence in the border area, however, during the control of the vehicle there were found several boxes wrapped in black foil.

Following those detected, the vehicle and the respective person were conducted at the headquarters of the Sector to carry out additional checks. In the lounge of the car were discovered 3750 cigarette packs of brand "Plugarul", which were to be smuggled in Romania, with their further selling on the black market of outlets.

Currently, the employees of the Border Police continue investigations in order to determine the entire crime area and the persons involved, the quantity of cigarettes was raised to confiscation.
It shall be mentioned that the retention is among the results obtained jointly with the Border Police Department personnel that changed one day of office work for the activity of surveillance and control of the state border.
We shall recall that the first task in the list of proposals for increasing the effectiveness of the working process of the border policemen and which gave good results is the initiative to change for a day the office work of the staff of the Department of Border Police with activity on surveillance and control of the state border.
The experiment launched two months ago determined the diminishing of the gap between the employees at the central and tactical level, as well as identified some of the needs and difficulties in carrying out the tasks of service and the most important - the opportunity to strengthen the team spirit.
