The Border Police officers have identified a transport means, retooled with the purpose of fraudulent transportation of liquor across the state border.

The detention of the vehicle took place on the itinerary Chisinau - Brest, a result of the information gathered by the Special Investigation Unit of the Northern Regional Directorate. According to the data owned, the truck of brand Volvo was used in the illicit scheme of ethyl alcohol transportation in large proportions in the border area, to be removed further by smuggling from the Republic of Moldova.

Thus, on April 9, the mobile team of the Northern Regional Directorate in cooperation with the representatives of the Police Inspectorate of Briceni and Territorial Directorate Edineţ of ISS, stopped and detained the suspect vehicle.

As a result of the physical control of the transport unit in places specially designed were found the tanks filled with a transparent liquid with ethyl alcohol odor, the amount of which was about 10 tons.

The driver, a Moldovan citizen, failed to present any documentary evidence of origin and transportation of alcohol.
Currently the case is investigated by the criminal investigation officers to establish the entire criminal activity.
