The incident was recorded on the morning of September 19th, at the home of a young suspect in cigarette smuggling. Border police conducted house searches from Lipcani sector in the locality Pererata, targeting a young 31 year-old suspect in attempted illegal crossing of 12,000 cigarettes over the River Prut (publicized case earlier this week).
During the search, were raised 625 packs of cigarettes and other material means required as evidence. During the investigation at the residence of the suspect, he started a scandal, usig uncensored words addressing Border Police inspectors and in a moment attacked with a knife one of the officers. The aggressor's father being at the spot at that moment intervened to stop him.
Prosecutor 's office of Briceni initated a criminal case on the name of the young man. Currently, he is detained for 72 hours, and shortly prosecutors will bring charges in violent crime committed against a public figure.
Similarly, from the information held at the level of the Border Police it was found that the person is not at the first deviation from the law, previously he was detained and fined for similar activities.
