Hungarian national with false documents and ghost, driving a stolen car from Slovakia

t1Border policemen from the BCP Leuseni detected a car of brand Toyota Highlander, worth over 30,000 euro, which was given in international search by the Slovak authorities. The means of transport was led by a Hungarian citizen, aged 42.

Following specific border control formalities, conducted at the entry to the country, Border Police officers found the car listed in the Interpol database as stolen in Slovakia, from April 2012. At the same time, the driver presented at control a passport issued by the Hungarian authorities, authentic, another document with diplomatic status of Guinea-Bissau, which proved to be partially counterfeit, the blank of the document was original, but the page with personal data was falsified.

The Border Policemen have requested from him the document that justifies the right to drive a car with special status (with diplomatic plates), which therefore proved to be a ghost document.

Toyota Higlander, manufactured in 2010 and registered in Senegal, was seized on the territory of the border crossing point, and the retention materials were taken by the officers of the Border Police investigation for further research and legal measures to be taken. Currently, the foreign citizen is investigated for attempt of smuggling, the offense subject being considered the means of transport Toyota Highlander. If found guilty, he risks imprisonment from 3 to 10 years, in conformity with the Criminal Code, Article 248.
