The employees of the Border Police jointly with the representatives of SC "Train and auto stations" have initiated a set of measures to combat the cases of illicit international trafficking of persons. The actions take place in the context of strengthening the cooperation between institutions in the fight against cross-border crime, and under bilateral agreements.
In this respect have been established joint working groups that will undertake verification activities of persons providing services to the international occasional carriage of passengers, if they have permits and comply with applicable law.
Following the measures undertaken only on the 14th of September, Border Policemen from the BCP Leuseni documented 8 cases of illegal transportation of passengers. At the same time, according to information provided by the SE "Train and auto stations" in the period September 12-15, were organized the routes with the destination Romania, with 580 tickets more than in the same period of the last year, which contributed to the increase of proceeds to 147,790 MDL.
In this context, the Border Police comes with a request to passenger carriers to comply with applicable law, renouncing to the actions that would jeopardize their activity, because according to the provisions of the Code of Administrative Offences the transport unit can be raised and recognized as real evidence. Also, we note the attention of the passengers on international routes, to buy tickets only from bus stations or from economic agents that provide transport services and are required to issue tickets according to the established order. If the carrier detects irregularities, people who do not have tickets may not arrive on time to the required destination.
