The inspectors of the Border Police Sector Brinza detained three young Moldovas, during the last 12 hours for breach of the border regime, through the illegal practice of fishing.
Even if they knew that it since April 1 was started the fishing prohibition period during which is prohibited the commercial, recreational and amateur sports fishing in the natural fish habitats in the country, they did not have complied with statutory measures and were fishing in Beleu lake waters. Moreover, the young persons have previously recognized that the Border Police informed them about the strict prohibition of fishing and recreation on the territory of the natural reservation.
From those three inhabitants of the villages Slobozia Mare and Vadul lui Isaac, the Border Police officers raised 1050 meters of monofilament net, with the help of which they caught 525 of fishes of various species. All the persons were fined contraventionally and together with the fishing utensils transmitted to the specialists from the Southern area Cahul Fisheries Service.
We shall remind to the fishermen that the prohibition period shall last until June 30 inclusively, and the patrolling actions in the border area to combat the illegal fishing shall be done frequently. According to the statistical data compiled by the Border Police, since the beginning of the fishing prohibition period up to May 27, there were registered 34 cases, involving 67 persons, and picked from them up to 3205 meters of net and 417 kg of fish.
