As a result of carrying out specific activities in the area of competence, the Border Police officers, during 7-13 April, revealed and documented 103 persons, who violated the border and migration legislation of the Republic of Moldova, as it follows:

- 14 persons for illegal crossing or attempt to cross the border illegally;
- 33 persons for violation of border area regime;
- 8 persons for presenting of false or falsified documents;
- 10 cases of illegal border crossing of the state border of material goods;
- 6 foreign citizens for violation of rules of stay on the territory of the Republic of Moldova;
- 32 persons in conflict with law and two transport means under confinement were detained at the border crossing points, as a result of information exchange of national and international law enforcement authorities.
The flow of people crossing the state border was about 245 000 persons, 25.000 crossings more against the previous week, and transport traffic flow recorded over 56 000 of transport means units, with an increase of 4.000 crossings against the period 31 March - 6 April.

We shall remind that beginning with 10 April up to 4 May, the Border Police and the Customs Service will operate at their full capacity to ensure effective and expeditious control so as to avoid crowding, generated by the coming Easter holidays.

The Border Police and the Customs Service shall monitor in regime 24/24, the flow of passengers and vehicles at the border crossing points and in cases when registered significant increases in the number of passengers, the specialized officers within the border institutions shall be assigned to those border crossing points to face the respective situation. Also there shall be used the portable special technique devices for reading travel documents, also the special means of customs control and shall be increased the number of mobile teams involved at state border surveillance and also of national routes.

At the same time, during the Easter holidays shall be open local checkpoints located on the Moldovan- Ukrainian border to facilitate the border crossing by the citizens of Moldova and Ukraine who live permanently in border administrative districts on the basis of internal passports (identity cards) or on the basis of passports for traveling abroad and the border crossing with vehicles belonging to them, with a loading capacity not exceeding 3.5 tonnes.

In order to effectively manage the operational situation, respectively the prevention and fight against illegal cross-border acts, as well as is enhanced the border cooperation with neighboring states, national institutions with border responsibilities, as well as local public administration authorities.
