The Border Police Leadership and the experts of the Agency of Defense and Threats Reduction from the U.S. Defense Department (WMD- PPP) carried out a quarterly analysis of the Project Management "Weapons of mass destruction - Proliferation Prevention Program".
At the meeting of March 24, the participants discussed the impact of Phase I of the Project, presenting the results of the cross-border crime, the allocation of equipment and technology provided under Phase II, as well as the training of Border Police officers in the framework of the Program of the Prevention of proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction at the border of the Republic of Moldova together with the Representatives of the URS Company Federal Services International Inc.
The U.S. experts have proposed for review and scope of a potential assistance in the perspective of the Increment III of the Respective Project, including the command and control / information fusion, training, inclusively long-term training capacities building, additional electro-optical / ray infrared cameras (EO / IR).
In the context of topics discussed, the Head of the Border Police, Dorin Purice, specified that the Border Police as an institution that contributes to the fulfillment of commitments under international programs funded by external partners, such as this project, submits maximum effort to demonstrate further that it is a reliable partner, and the work is fulfilled in accordance with the highest standards.
At the end of the meeting the American experts visited the National Coordination Center of the Border Police where they got acquainted closely with its structure and activity, including interaction with other authorities at the national and international level.
