The Border Police officers in cooperation with customs officials prevented a case of illegal passing of utside the Republic of Moldova of a pneumatic gun. The case was registered at the Moldovan-Romanian border on weekend.
Thus, at the exit from the country via BCP Giurgiulesti - Galaţi, there was presented a transport means of model CHRYSLER with foreign number plates, driven by a Moldovan citizen, aged 22.
While rigorous verifications by means of special control technique, the customs officers and Border Police officers discovered a pneumatic pistol SIG - SAVER model, caliber 6 mm, which was not declared to the customs authorities. Furthermore, the driver of the car had no acts confirming the origin and ownership of the gun, and to take it out of the country, the young man camouflaged the gun in the right side of the car seat.
Currently the case is investigated to determine all the circumstances and penalties to be provided by the legislation. At the same time, the pneumatic gun has to be subject to specialty expertise.
