The Border Police employees held a meeting with Europol experts, who were in a working visit to Chisinau on March 19 - 21 this year.
The visit had an advisory character for the specialists of the administrative authorities and institutions subordinated to the MIA that aims the requirements on data confidentiality, classified information protection, those employees’ responsibilities who operate confidential information, as well as the applicability of the national and departmental regulatory framework in this area.
Within the discussions with Europol experts, the Border Police officers have provided information on the level of information security and data privacy in the border institution, including information systems used and their interoperability with other systems.
The visit was carried out in the context of launching negotiations on the Operational Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and Europol, as a result of the previous meeting of the MIA leadership with Europol officials and signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on the secure line of communication between the Republic of Moldova and Europol, at the beginning of the current year.
