At the end of the last week, the employees of the Border Police in cooperation with colleagues from Romania, managed to prevent one case of human trafficking.
Thus, at exit of the country through the border crossing point Cahul, was present a means of transport, with Romanian license plates, driven by a Romanian citizen and in the lounge – was one of his fellow countryman and a young Moldovan girl who declared they went to Romania.
During the carrying out of the control, to the border policemen seemed suspicious the behavior of the 17 years old girl, but also the fact she was travelling with two foreign men, aged 42 and 54 respectively. While checking the travel documents of the minor girl, the border control inspectors noted that the passport was issued recently, on 1 July and the power of attorney was issued two hours before arrival to BCP.
While being questioned, the men made a mess in their declarations, claiming that they know the girl’s mother for two months, who entrusted her to take her on holiday to a relative in Italy. Meanwhile, the minor stated she would stay in Romania a few days, and later was to arrive in Italy, without specifying the purpose of the travelling.
Because in this case were involved Romanian citizens, the border policemen resorted to colleagues from Romania, after the verification in database was found out that men appeared to be involved in human trafficking.
In order to further research and to establish the circumstances, all persons were transmitted to the competent authorities in Romania.
