During the last 24 hours for violation of rules of stay in the border area, with the purpose of fishing, the Border Police employees fined 15 fishermen and seized two boats, 1100 meters of net , an electric battery and about 400 fishes.
In one of the cases, the border policemen were forced to use weaponry to retain the poachers, who were fishing without permission and the necessary documents. Yesterday, at around 6.30, the Border Patrol of the Police Sector Brinza, being on mission of service within the area of responsibility observed, using the surveillance devices at night, on the Lake Beleu a boat that held two persons. They returning to the bank, began to unload several bags from the boat. After a period of monitoring the actions of men concerned, the border policemen intervened to detain them, when those two men threw the bags and tried to hide in the woods nearby. Since thee did not obey the voice summons, the border inspectors conducted a warning shot, vertically, according to the legal provisions. In a short time it was managed to retain the two young, aged 20 and 29, from Slobozia Mare village.
In the boat persons concerned had 800 meters of net, and in the bags were found 230 different fish species. To exit with the boat on border waters without prior notice, and without any identity papers in the border area men were fined 200 MDL each. Those two men, along with their fishing utensils, were taken by the workers of nature reserve Prutul de Jos, in the area where the fishing and hunting are strictly forbidden, to take the responsibility for the infringement committed.
A similar case has been registered in the district of the Border Police Sector Cahul, where there were also identified two Moldovans who were fishing in a tributary of the River Prut, during the night time and with a device connected to electricity. When finding the deed, it was discovered a quantity of 7 kg of fish, which was retained and transmitted to Fisheries Service of Cahul.
