During the period 15-17 December 2015, the Deputy Head of the Border Police and Ianus Erhan Ianuş and the Head of the Border Crossing "Chisinau International Airport", Veaceslav Garstea participate in the third annual meeting of the Cooperation Network of Border Police Chiefs and airport units in Southeast Europe countries. The event took place in Budva, Montenegro, being organized by the Centre of Regional Initiative in Migration, Asylum and Refugees (MARRI) and brings together representatives of border authorities of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia and Kosovo.
Yesterday, December 10, the employees of the Border Police were mobilized in a joint-tactical exercise "CARPF-2015", by which was tested the response capacity of the institution in the context of crisis of refugees and immigrants in Europe. The actions of the border employees were evaluated and analyzed by experts of the Border Police Department and representatives of the High Commissioner for Refugees of the United Nations.
The border policemen from the checkpoint "Leuşeni" discovered a car model Opel Antara, with Swiss license plates, which appeared in the Interpol database as stolen. The detention took place yesterday, December 10, during border checks carried out at the entry to the country. The car is on a platform towed by a means of transport of model Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 312 TDI, registered in the Republic of Moldova.
Three Romanian citizens tried at the end of the last week to take out illegally from the Republic of Moldova - 9120 cigarettes, each resorting to ingenious ways of camouflaging them in the means of transport. The tobacco products were detected by border policemen and customs inspectors from the border crossing point Costesti within an hour.
